Madinah Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship (MILE) is proud to announce that our PALM2 alumnus and Young Executive Scholarship recipient, Omar Al-Madhi has been recruited as the founding CEO of the Volkswagen Group of Saudi Arabia.
Omar Al-Madhi joins the Volkswagen Group's leadership after five years as a member of SAGIA's executive team where his last role was Assistant Deputy Governor for Research, Analysis & Councils. In his new position, Al-Madhi’s responsibilities amongst other things include increasing the sales of Volkswagen group's brands as well as creating new business opportunities in the Kingdom.Prior to SAGIA, Omar was an associate at McKinsey & Company in Dubai. He also worked in a multitude of positions within Saudi Aramco.
Omar obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. He also received an MBA degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is a co-author of "The One Thing" business case study.
The Program for Advanced Leadership and Management (PALM2) in Madinah, Saudi Arabia was Al-Madhi’s most recent certification before his new position.The program combined top quality content, world-class speakers,and live regional case studies. Al-Madhi, along with other participants had the opportunity to expand their business repertoire to include new concepts, approaches, and practices.
IESE, one of the world’s top 10 business schools, acted as MILE’s Academic Partner for this program, along with professors from London Business School, Columbia, and Thunderbird Business School , who will contribute towards an enriching and rewarding program.PALM 2 had leaders from four of the top global management consulting firms; Bain,PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, and EgonZehnder, who discussedthe best global practices applied with their clients locally and regionally.
Using the latest management concepts and tools, PALM 2, focused on transforming senior executives into leaders leaving attendees with a broader vision of success and equipped to make the tough decisions required to succeed in today’s global economy.
