Adel M. Fakeih started his career as a trainee engineer in Savola Group in 1980. He has since assumed various positions in the Group, ending with being the Managing Director in 1983. He has also assumed the role of Chairman and Managing Director in 1990 until 2005.

In 2005, after 25 years in the private sector, he was appointed by a royal decree to Mayor of Jeddah till 2010. Then, he was appointed, also by a royal decree, as Minister of Labor.
