Alexander Van de Putte a Professor of Strategic Foresight at IE Business School, Senior Director and Head of Scenario Processes & Applications at PFC Energy International, the Co-Director of the Executive Master in Oil & Gas Leadership at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, The Chairman of the Academic Board of the Caspian Development Center, and an Associate with the US National Intelligence Council.Previously, Alexander was Senior Director and Head of Global Practices (Scenario Planning, Global Risks and Competitiveness) with the World Economic Forum, the Senior Strategy and Portfolio Advisor to the Committee of Managing Directors at Shell, a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers and an Engagement Manager at McKinsey.Alexander was a Visiting Professor of scenario planning at INSEAD, Professor of Strategy & Finance and Dean of the Grande Ecole Programme at the Rouen School of Management and a Teaching Fellow at the University of London. Alexander has been a lecturer in executive education at INSEAD (both France and Singapore), IMD and Wharton and has taught at the Solvay School of Management, Boston University and in company programs at DuPont, Caterpillar, GE, Nuon, Shell, The Kazakhstan Development Bank, The Pew Center on Global Climate Change, and Statoil.Alexander is an economist and engineer by training. He holds advanced degrees in Management and Decision Sciences from Boston University, was a BAEF Fellow at Harvard University, holds a PhD in Management (Strategy & Finance) from the University of London, a Doctorate in International Relations from the Geneva School of Diplomacy, and is finalizing a PhD in Engineering at Cambridge University. In 2004, he was elected an Honorary Teaching Fellow at Birkbeck College (University of London).
